High school girls lacrosse: Thursday’s 6A/5A/4A second round recap

Skyridge 27, Westlake 0

Sophie Sam and Sabrina Czipka each scored four goals to lead No. 8 Herriman past No. 9 Copper Hills 18-11 in the nonregion second round of the 6A state tournament. Faith Kugler contributed three goals for Herriman. With this victory, Herriman advances to the 6A Quarterfinals this Saturday.

Farmington 18, Corner Canyon 5

Farmington’s Ellie Dorius dazzled with seven goals and one assist, spearheading the No. 5 Phoenix’s commanding 18-5 win over No. 12 Corner Canyon in the second round of the 6A state tournament. Ella Chamberlain made nine saves, helping the SkyHawks secure a spot in Saturday’s 5A Quarterfinals. Salem Hills dominated the first quarter 6-1 and maintained control to advance further in the tournament.

Fremont 18, West Field 1

Bailey Sargent’s five goals and three assists helped propel No. 2 Fremont to an 18-1 victory over No. 15 West Field in the second round of the 5A state tournament. Makenzi Overdiek added four goals and two assists for the Silverwolves, who dominated from start to finish. Fremont advances to this Saturday’s 5A Quarterfinals.

Payson 12, Pleasant Grove 10
