Liverpool could miss out on RB Leipzig attacker Yan Diomande in the summer transfer window.
The Reds are expected to bolster their attacking unit in the summer, as they need to sign a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who will leave the club at the end of the season.
Irrespective of what the future holds for Arne Slot, Liverpool need pacy and skilful wingers, and Diomande has been heavily linked in recent months.
Diomande joined Leipzig in the summer window from Leganes and has quickly established himself as an important player for the club.
The 19-year-old has scored 12 goals and provided 17 assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances.
While there are still rough edges to his game, he is no doubt one of the fantastic young talents in world football at the moment.
Diomande has got pace and great dribbling skills, with an eye for pass and goal. And he is only going to get better.
Bayern Munich rate him highly but his price tag, in the region of £86.2m, makes him too expensive for the Bavarian giants to even compete in the market.
Christian Falk previously CFBayern that Diomande is no longer a priority target for Bayern as the club are not prepared to pay the amount Leipzig are demanding.

RB Boss Oliver Mintzlaff has said recently about Diomande: “I’m a member of the supervisory board, not the sporting director. But I can say this: if I were the sporting director, I wouldn’t sell this young player, who hasn’t even completed a full season with us yet, regardless of the asking price. I believe he’s a player who will continue to develop, because he’s still very young and could certainly become more expensive.”
The Bild journalist suggested that Diomande could look to continue at Leipzig for a year at least, and Liverpool (and other interested clubs) may find it hard to lure him away.
Falk said: “Anyone who knows the club knows: his word is law. Diomande should also be able to imagine staying for at least a year. The club’s plan is to extend his contract in the summer, increase his salary, and include a release clause.”
