AUSTIN — The scene was so familiar, then the flourish at the end signaled a special end to a special Class 3A UIL State Track and Field Championships in the most special of careers for Holliday's Noah Strohman.
Moments after he charged down the home stretch to complete his golden triple — 800, 1,600 and 3,200 for a state championship team that left him 11-0 in individual state races — he had some celebrating to do with the second place finisher. That was his twin Ryder, who finished runner-up to Noah in the 1,600 and 3,200 and was fourth in the 800.

Holliday’s Noah Stroham and brother Ryder Stroham lead the 3,200-meter run during the Class 3A UIL State track and field meet on May 14, 2026, at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
After Noah pumped his arms in celebration crossing the finish line, he turned around, ran back to Ryder and they did a flying hip bump. Twenty minutes later they celebrated a dramatic team title with their 4x400 relay to complete the most memorable of final days in their final moments in Holliday uniforms.
"This was it," Noah Strohman said when asked if this was his favorite state meet. "This morning (in the 3,200) we didn't do a celebration, the 800 we didn't do a celebration. After the (3,200) I pointed my shoulder so he could get ready for it."
Said Ryder: "I was so extremely happy with getting second and doing our celebration," Ryder said.
The meet marked the fourth consecutive 3,200 and 1,600 crowns for Noah and his third straight win in what he considers his toughest event, the 800 (he didn't run that event as a freshman).
The normal order of things was actually disrupted at the Region I-3A meet two weeks ago when Ryder upset his brother, who was dealing with a calf strain, in the 3,200. But the script was in full force at state. Noah began his day with a state record 9 minutes, 2.35 seconds, in the 3,200 and flashed four fingers at the tape.
Noah Strohman won gold medals in the 800, 1,600, and 3,200 meters.
Ryder Strohman finished second in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters and fourth in the 800.
Noah Strohman's performance marked his 11th consecutive win in individual state races, completing a golden triple.
The UIL State Track and Field Championships were held at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Ryder, who hung with his brother for five laps, finished under his brother's three-year-old former state mark, turning in a time of 9:10.48.
"It was a little easier than I expected," said Noah Strohman, an Oklahoma State signee, after the 3,200. "I got there pretty easily. It feels pretty good going into the rest of the day. Coming down here it didn't feel like I was gong to state. Then I walked up here then I'm like, 'I'm excited to be back, excited for a great day.'"

The excitement bled over to his twin.
"It's great, getting second behind my brother, I can't ask for much more," said Ryder, an Oklahoma State signee. "I started off the day strong, I'm ready for the rest of the day."
When asked what was more exciting, his upset of his brother at regionals or silver on the bigger stage, Ryder didn't hesitate.
"Getting second at state," he said. "That means everything. These other meets mean a lot, but state is the main goal. You have to compete well at state."
And how many state golds would he have without his brother, the greatest 3A distance runner in Texas history?
"A lot, but I wouldn't be this good without my brother," Ryder Strohman said. "He pushes me beyond my limits. I couldn't have run the times I did without him."
