The NBA's first round of postseason action was one that delivered a number of entertaining matchups, with three in particular going to a Game 7, all of which were in the Eastern Conference. One of those series' had a former Crimson Tide basketball player involved, with that same guard also advancing to the NBA conference semifinals to keep their 2025-26 season alive.
Following is a look at how those three performed during the first round of the 2026 NBA playoffs.
Ellis appeared in four games during Cleveland's first round win in seven games over the Toronto Raptors, averaging 0.8 points and 2.3 rebounds across 10.8 minutes per game off the Cavaliers' bench. Appearing in each of the series' first four games, Ellis went 1-for-6 from three-point range in all, and scored his lone points in Game 1, as well as had four rebounds during Game 3.
The East's No. 4 seeded Cavaliers and Ellis now advance to the conference semifinals where they will face the No. 1 seed Detroit Pistons.
Davison saw action in only two games during the Houston Rockets' first round loss against the , averaging one point and one rebound across only 2.5 minutes per contest. A series which went six games, Davison appeared in only Games 4 and 6, scoring two points off a pair of free throws, while also grabbing two rebounds.
