Former LSU golfer Sam Burns finished tied for seventh at the 2026 Masters, shooting nine under par. This marks his best career finish at the Masters, improving from a tie for 29th in 2023.
LSU was represented well at the 2026 Masters. Former Tiger Sam Burns finished tied for seventh at the end of the tournament on Sunday. He shot nine under par to tie with Collin Morikawa at Augusta National Golf Club.
Burns trailed the co-leaders by one shot at the end of the third round. He played bogey-free and finished at 68 to put himself just behind eventual winner Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young heading into the fourth round.
The No. 7 finish sets a career best for Burns at the Masters. His previous best finish came in 2023 in a tie for 29th place. In his fifth Master's this weekend, he found new gear to end in the top-10.
Burns made par for 65% of the holes throughout the tournament. He finished with 16 birdies, seven bogeys and one eagle. The Shreveport, LA native cracked the top-10 in multiple PGA Tour tournaments last year.
