The Minnesota Timberwolves are one win away from advancing to the next round, but they have to navigate a variety of injuries to get there.
With Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo already out for Game 6, Minnesota declared guard Ayo Dosunmu out for the game as well just hours before tipoff. The point guard has played a key role in Minnesota’s 3-2 lead over the Denver Nuggets, including scoring 43 points in Game 4, and was expected to help carry the load without Edwards.
Instead, Minnesota will have to find a way to beat the Nuggets without three of its most important offensive players. Dosunmu has only been on the team since the trade deadline, but he has been a key piece over the past few months.

Dosunmu will miss Game 6 after suffering a calf injury, and his timetable to return is unclear. The point guard was questionable entering the game with right calf soreness and wasn’t ruled out until just a few hours before tipoff, indicating he attempted to play.
Tonight’s outcome will decide when the Timberwolves will play next. A potential Game 7 would be in Denver on Saturday night, while the San Antonio Spurs are already through and waiting to play the winner in Game 1 of the second round on Monday night.
Dosunmu has been dealing with a right calf injury for much of the last few weeks, as he has played through it during this playoff run. Dosunmu missed four of Minnesota's final 10 games, including two of the final three when the Wolves had the sixth seed locked up.
Dosunmu played in each of the Timberwolves' first five games against the Nuggets, which included a 43-point performance in Minnesota's Game 4 victory.
