How many points did Caitlin Clark score in Indiana's WNBA opener?

Despite Caitlin Clark making her long-awaited WNBA regular-season return today against Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, and the Dallas Wings in their 2026 season opener at Indianapolis' Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the former Hawkeye had an efficient day in the team's closely contested 107-104 loss on Saturday afternoon.

In her 31 minutes of action, Clark scored 20 points off of 7-for-18 shooting, 2-for-9 from 3-point range, and 4-for-4 at the free-throw line, to accompany seven assists and five rebounds. More importantly, a majority of those 20 points came in the third quarter, as the Fever erased a nine-point halftime deficit.

In addition to her stat line, Clark's layup at the end of the third marked a career achievement as her 1,000th point scored in the WNBA.

While Clark certainly would like to have seen a few more of her trademark deep 3-pointers cash in, it is still a very promising start to the season for the Iowa women's basketball legend as she begins her third WNBA season.

The next game for Clark and Indiana will not be until May 13, when they travel out to Los Angeles, Calif., to face the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena. That game is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on USA Network.
