Ludvig Åberg takes the lead at RBC Heritage with a stellar 63!
The Los Angeles Dodgers and MLB will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day on Wednesday, marking the 79th anniversary of his debut in 1947. Robinson was the first African American to play in MLB and his No. 42 is retired across all teams.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, along with all of MLB, will be celebrating Jackie Robinson Day on Wednesday. This year marks the 79th anniversary of Robinson’s historic debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947.
Robinson broke the baseball color barrier by becoming the first African American to play in MLB. He was the first black player to win the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 1949 and won the World Series with the Dodgers in 1955.
His No. 42 is retired across all MLB teams.

Once a year, on Jackie Robinson Day, all on-field personnel in MLB games wear Robinson’s iconic No. 42 in Dodger Blue and royal blue “42” socks from Stance. All teams’ hats will also feature a “42” side patch, according to MLB.
The Dodgers and the New York Mets will join together before the game at the No. 42’s statue in Centerfield Plaza for the annual Jackie Robinson Day reflection.
In addition to the Dodgers and Mets, the president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum Bob Kendrick, Jackie Robinson Foundation scholars and Robinson’s granddaughters, Sonya Pankey Robinson and Ayo Robinson will be in attendance at the reflection and game.
Robinson’s granddaughter, Sonya, will be throwing out the first pitch of Wednesday’s game.
The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and Dodgers Black Action Network will also be hosting career development panel for the Jackie Robinson Foundation scholars.
Fans can receive a commemorative Robinson jersey before the game begins at 7:10 pm PST.
