The 2026 Masters is upon us, but all of the excitement from this year's tournament will undoubtedly prompt many to wonder if and how they could possibly attend next year.

The Masters Tournament is not like other tournaments. Individual tickets aren't sold for the event, and second-hand site tickets are strictly prohibited. The only way to get tickets to the event outside of an invitation is to enter a ticket lottery. All hopeful attendees can do is to apply for tickets and cross their fingers that they are selected.

While called a ticket lottery, you thankfully have better odds of winning the Masters lottery than the actual lottery. That being said, you still only have about a 0.5% chance to win the ticket lottery, and even then, the tickets can be for the practice round or any of the four actual rounds, and you aren't allowed to choose.

How to apply for Masters Tickets

The easiest way to score tickets is to roll the dice and enter your name into the annual ticket lottery. Every year, fans can enter their name into the lottery with a chance to win tickets. Typically, the lottery is held the summer before the next tournament.

There's no guarantee you'll win, and you can't apply for tickets to a specific round, meaning you could end up with Sunday tickets or just tickets to a practice round. The process is pretty simple. Here's what you need to do to enter the lottery system for 2027:

1. Create your Masters account: New Applicants only may register/create an account at this time in preparation for the 2027 application process by following this link.
2. The lottery for 2027 runs June 1-20.
3. If you are lucky enough to receive tickets, you can make your payments starting in late July.

Forbes.com puts the odds of winning the Masters ticket lottery at 1 in 200. This would be expressed as a 0.5% chance to win tickets to the Masters.

Lottery ticket prices

The Masters tried to counter the secondary ticket market by raising initial prices in 2026. Practice round tickets ranged from $120 to $150, but tickets to the actual rounds were increased to $160, per Forbes. This may not seem like much, but it was a $20 increase each day.

• Third round: (Saturday) $160
• Final round (Sunday) $160

Series Badge Patron Tickets

Patrons can acquire a Series Badge, which allows them to attend the entire tournament. A Series Badge runs about $450, but they are not posted for public sale. They are hard to find, and there is almost a secretive lore surrounding them.

This is an excerpt from a 2023 Golf.com article about the mysterious exclusive tickets.

"As the Masters grew in popularity, so did the value of the series badges. In 1972, the club created a waiting list for those looking to sign up for the badges. It became so flooded with names it closed in 1978. It opened again briefly in 2000 and hasn’t been open since. How many of these badges actually exist though?

Good question; nobody knows.

One current badge-holder who spoke to GOLF.com applied during that 2000 opening. Every year Augusta National sent them an application to apply for practice-round tickets, which they never got, but in 2005 a letter came saying they had been accepted for two patron badges for all four tournament days.

“My wife and I both read the letter four times wondering if there was a catch,” he said. “It really was like winning the lottery.”

This couple has attended every year since. There’s an added perk, too: badge-holders can bring one junior with them for free. Regular-ticket lottery winners don’t get that luxury. And once you are in, you’re in."

Third party tickets

The Masters is adamant that it will not accept resale tickets and they are strictly prohibited. Still, every year, listings pop up on StubHub. As of April 7, there is a listing for two 2026 four-day passes together for $34,921, but don't worry, that includes website fees.  The cheapest ticket for the 2026 first round is listed at $8,333 and the cheapest for the final round is a little more than $6,000.
