This year’s event takes place at the Sherman Sports Complex in Storrs, Connecticut. Friday’s running events will mostly be prelims for many of Saturday’s finals, but there are finals on Friday evening in men’s and women’s steeplechase and 5,000-meter.

UConn, the hosts of this year’s tournament, has been the dominant team in the Big East in recent years, with the men/s team taking home the past five team titles while the women’s team has four consecutive team titles.

UConn will be favored in many of the events this weekend. Sarah Trainor is far and away the favorite in women’s steeplechase and is the only competitor in the field to run the event in under 10 minutes this season. On the men’s side, UConn’s Christian Menounos is a top contender, though Villanova’s Matthew Bogdan has the best steeplechase time of anyone in the field.
