Montreal had a chance to close the series at home, but now has to win on the road against a Lightning team with major Game 7 experience. NHL.com notes Tampa Bay is 7-3 all-time in Game 7s, including 4-1 at home, while Montreal is 15-9 all-time in Game 7s and has won five of its past six road winner-take-all games.
The Canadiens will lean on their young core and goalie Jakub Dobes, while Tampa Bay has the veteran edge with Vasilevskiy, Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point, and Brandon Hagel. Expect another low-margin game where one special-teams chance, a goalie mistake, or an overtime bounce could decide the series.
