The 2026 men’s college volleyball season comes to a close on Monday night as UC Irvine takes on Hawaii at Pauley Pavilion in the national championship game.

UC Irvine is 21-8 on the season. The team defeated Penn State in the regional round before upsetting No. 1 overall seed UCLA in the regional final round. That sent the team through to the semifinals, where a win over Ball State landed the program in the title game. UC Irvine is in search of its fifth championship, winning in 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2013.
Hawaii sits at 29-5 on the year. The team received a bye in the first round, then defeated USC and Long Beach to advance to the championship match. The 2021 and 2022 winners of this tournament look to add another trophy to their resume.
These two teams met in early April, with Hawaii coming away with a 3-2 win in the first game and a 3-0 win in the second game. Hawaii is 8-2 over the last 10 meetings with UC Irvine.
