Rousey vs. Carano will be held at the Intuit Dome, the home of the Los Angeles Clippers, on Saturday, May 16. The main card is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET, and Rousey vs. Carano is expected to begin around 11:30 p.m. ET, though that time could change depending on the length of the other fights.
Rousey (12-2), a former Strikeforce and UFC champion, took women's MMA to new heights, dominating her opponents with her trademark armbar finish and becoming a mainstream star. Her MMA career ended following brutal knockout losses against Holly Holm (2015) and Amanda Nunes (2016).
The Hall of Famer then transitioned from MMA to WWE, capturing multiple championship belts. She has also appeared in films like "The Expendables 3," "Furious 7" and "Mile 22."
While Rousey was hoping to make a comeback with the UFC, she claimed that a poor offer caused her to take the fight to Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions.
"Now it's become about changing the entire landscape of the sport and challenging the monolith that the UFC has become," Rousey said.
Back in 2007, Carano (7-1) defeated Julie Kedzie in what was recognized as the first nationally televised women's MMA fight, establishing herself as a true pioneer. She lost against Cris Cyborg in her last fight in 2009.
Carano began acting following her run in the cage, appearing in "Fast & Furious 6," "Deadpool" and "The Mandalorian." She's ready to fight again after turning 44 years old last month.
"We only get to live once, and this makes me feel so alive," Carano said.
The main card will also feature the return of former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who hasn't fought since beating Renan Ferreira at a PFL event in October 2024.
