Hugo Ekitike was stretchered off during Liverpool's Champions League match against PSG due to a non-contact injury, reportedly affecting his right ankle. Mohamed Salah replaced him in the 32nd minute.
Liverpool star Hugo Ekitike was stretchered off with a non-contact injury in Tuesday's Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.
With around 30 minutes gone at Anfield, Ekitike slipped awkwardly as he was trying to change direction and reach a pass.
The France star went down in obvious discomfort and immediately grabbed his right ankle area, sparking fears of a potential injury to his Achilles.
Mohamed Salah came on in Ekitike's place in the 32nd minute.
Ekitike has been a key figure for Liverpool in his first season with the club, scoring 17 goals across all competitions following a move from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.
The striker broke through with the France national team last fall, earning his first six caps for Les Bleus and scoring his first international goal against Ukraine in November.
He also appeared in both of France's friendlies last month, scoring in a win against Brazil.
With just two months until the World Cup, Ekitike would appear to be at serious risk of missing the tournament in North America.
