The 2026 Hull 10k road race has been cancelled due to "ongoing roadworks across the city", organisers have confirmed.

The event, organised by Run For All and held in memory of Jane Tomlinson CBE, was due to take place on 31 May.

In a statement, Run For All said the event's date had already been moved to accommodate rugby league fixtures and ongoing roadworks near the route had forced the cancellation.

Officials said: "The works significantly impact the event route, and in this instance, we have sadly not been able to identify a suitable date to safely host the road race."

They added: "While we recognise the importance of the event to our participants, partners, charities, and the wider community, this decision has been made following careful consultation with Hull City Council."

Entries for the event had been unavailable on the official website for a number of weeks with runners told the delay was due to "event day logistics".

Runners with an entry for the 2026 event have been contacted, organisers said.

Run For All has organised the Hull 10K for more than a decade and thousands of runners have raised money for charities in the local area.

The race was moved away from the city centre in 2025 due to ongoing roadworks and was set to take place at Hull Kingston Rovers' Craven Park stadium for a second consecutive year.

Officials said they were "actively working to agree a suitable date for the event's return in 2027" and remained "committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive road races".

The BBC has contacted Hull City Council for comment.
