The 10th annual Douglas I. Quinney Invitational saw over 250 personal records set by high school track athletes in New York. Oneonta and Sidney High School emerged as top teams in the girls' and boys' events, respectively.
Sidney High School hosted the 10th annual Douglas I. Quinney Invitational, where the top New York State high school track athletes competed for their last chance at regular-season âpracticeâ before conference championships and the postseason.
Of the 27 teams competing, Section 4âs Oneonta, which dominated in both the girls' (91.50 pts) and boys' (111 pts) events in last year's competition, and Section 3âs Sauquoit Valley placed first and second in the girlsâ team scores with 90 and 60 points, respectively. Chenango Valley finished third with 57 points.
Sidney took first place with an overall boysâ team score of 78 points, followed by Oxford Academy and Cooperstown, who had 56 and 47 points, respectively.
With over 250 personal records achieved at this yearâs Quinney Invite, here are some of the top athletes and marks, who also place amongst the top athletes in the state:
Milo Wilson of Binghamton placed in the top 10 in New York State with a mark of 6 feet, 8 inches in the boysâ high jump â an inch shy of the Section 4 record (6â 9ââ) he set at the Penn Relays. Mack Patterson of Chenango Valley placed number one in New York State with a mark of 179-11 in the boysâ discus throw, beating his previous NYS record of 178-5. Jameson Gable placed in the top 50 in New York State with a personal record of 22.24 seconds in the boysâ 200-meter dash.

Dejah Taylor of Sidney placed in the top 50 in New York State with a time of 58.21 seconds in the girlsâ 400-meter dash. Delaney Walters placed in the top 10 in New York State with a mark of 5 ft 4 in in the girlsâ high jump. Cassidy Howard of Oneonta placed in the top 50 in New York State with a time of 12.39 seconds in the girlsâ 100-meter dash and in the top 25 in the state in the 200-meter dash (25.06s). Hannah Miller of Sauquoit Valley placed in the top 50 in New York State with a personal record of 34-5 in the girlsâ shot put.
Nikhil Datta of Chenango Valley (9:53.02 PR) ranked amongst the top 25 athletes in the country competing in the boysâ 3000m Steeplechase. Harpo Hardt of Bainbridge-Guilford placed in the top 50 in New York State with a personal record of 15.26 seconds in the boysâ 110-meter hurdles event. Keegan Waltz of Oxford Academy placed in the top 50 in New York State with a time of 49.91 seconds in the boysâ 100-meter dash.
Oneonta scored 90 points, Sauquoit Valley 60 points, and Chenango Valley 57 points in the girls' events, while Sidney led the boys' events with 78 points.
Over 250 personal records were achieved by athletes at the Quinney Invitational this year.

Logan Rhodes of Newark Valley placed in the top 50 in New York State with a personal record of 12-6 in the boysâ pole vault. Michael Morrissey (Sidney) and Derek Jordan (Unatego/Franklin) placed in the top 25 in New York State with marks of 55-1.50 and 53-0.50 (PR), respectively.
