Indiana menās basketball got some early good news on Monday when a trio of transfer portal guards committed to join the Hoosiers ahead of the 2026-27 season. Apparently, there could be even more good news on the way for the program.
Indiana is the favorite to land Alabama transfer forward Aiden Sherrell, who was in Bloomington for a visit in recent days, per reporting from Jeff Goodman of the Field of 68.
Landing Sherrell would be massive for the Hoosiersā frontcourt, which was one of the biggest issues for Darian DeVriesā first roster this past season. Indiana simply lacked the size to reliably compete against Big Ten competition and the 6ā11ā Sherrell, who can play both power forward and center, would change that immediately.
Sherrell just finished his second season at Alabama and first as a starter, averaging 11.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 53.9% from the field and 33.8% from 3-point range.
Aiden Sherrell would greatly improve Indiana's frontcourt, addressing their size issues and enhancing their competitiveness in the Big Ten.
Aiden Sherrell recently visited Indiana, although the exact date of his visit is not specified in the reports.
The report that Indiana is the favorite to land Aiden Sherrell comes from Jeff Goodman of the Field of 68.
