IndyCar's Grand Prix of Arlington will return to the streets of Arlington, Texas, for a second season, the event announced Monday. After holding the inaugural race, won by Andretti Global's Kyle Kirkwood, in March, IndyCar will race in Arlington again on March 21, 2027.
Penske Entertainment, IndyCar's parent company, partnered with the Dallas Cowboys and REV Entertainment, the official events partners of the Texas Rangers, to bring the race to life for the first time in March. The 14-turn, 2.73-mile street course (which is the longest of the six street courses on IndyCar's 2026 slate) drew favorable reviews from drivers and teams, making a return inevitable. Just one day after this year's race, the event's official website allowed fans to sign up for updates regarding the future of the event and ticketing.
"From the sold-out grandstands to the incredible support from our fans, partners and the Arlington community, the response to the inaugural event was exceptional," said Bill Miller, president of the Grand Prix of Arlington. "Building on the momentum from this first year, 2027 will deliver more enhancements and memorable experiences for our guests."
Over 20,000 fans filled the grandstands for the race, which also received 1.336 million viewers on Fox. It was IndyCar's first race in the Lonestar State since removing Texas Motor Speedway (Fort Worth) from the schedule following the 2023 season.
The Grand Prix of Arlington is scheduled to return on March 21, 2027.

"It definitely is a new standard," IndyCar President Doug Boles said after the race. "And I think as we add over the next few years, we're going to need to make sure that we step up, so when you walk in those events, it feels exactly like it did when we went to Arlington."
A source told IndyStar that IndyCar has not yet confirmed the length of its deal to return to Arlington, but the series "looks forward to a bright future on the streets of Arlington." Given the success of this year's event, the Grand Prix of Arlington — which retains Java House as its presenting sponsor in 2027 — seems to be a mainstay on the IndyCar calendar for the foreseeable future.
