The Boston Bruins could look to add some more skill to the lineup, but one forward could also become a mainstay in the top six.
Boston had success this past season and made the playoffs as the Bruins were a surprise team this year. One player who had plenty of success was Mark Kastelic who Boston acquired in 2024 from the Ottawa Senators in part of the package for Linus Ullmark.
Kastelic was considered a bottom-six forward who can add some depth to the lineup, but this past season he had plenty of success. With that, Bruins insider Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic believes Kastelic is a future top-six forward in Boston.
“Kastelic scored a career-high 12 goals, became a regular penalty killer and even found a role as an overtime faceoff specialist,” Shinzawa wrote. “Willing and able to fight anyone, including heavyweight champion Mathieu Olivier in a critical comeback win against the , it’s not a stretch to think he can be a No. 2 right wing because of his shot, skating and fearlessness.”
Insiders report that Mark Kastelic is expected to become a mainstay in the Bruins' top six forward lineup.

Kastelic developing into a second-line winger would be huge for Boston, as it would add more skill and depth to the forward group. But, even if he remains on the third line, it makes the Bruins that much better and deeper.
Kastelic recorded 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points in 82 games with the Bruins. He has two years left on his three-year, $4.7 million deal.
