The Denver Broncos were reportedly looking to add an offensive lineman in the 2026 NFL Draft despite offensive line being a strength of the team. With Garett Bolles (33) and Mike McGlinchey (31) starting to get up there in age, there was talk of the team looking for a developmental prospect.
In the fourth round, they found one. The Broncos took another Bronco, selecting Boise State offensive tackle Kage Casey with the No. 111 overall pick. Believe it or not, it's the first offensive tackle that the Broncos have drafted since selecting Bolles in the first round in 2017.
The Broncos have Frank Crum, Matt Peart and Alex Palczewski as their top rotational offensive linemen, but both Peart and Palczewski are better suited at the guard position, giving Casey a clear path to being the team's top swing tackle early in his career.
Casey stands 6-foot-6 and is 22 years old. He attended high school in Happy Valley, Oregon, playing on the offensive line and defensive line before heading to Boise State.
Casey played in 46 games in college and became a consistent offensive tackle for the team. He is a player that you know what you're getting with and he has the ability to be a perfect rotational tackle for a great deal of time at the professional level.

The best offensive lines in the league have a player who can step in and make a spot start here and there and that is exactly what Casey offers. He has the ability to develop into a long-term starter as well, who could also be moved into a guard slot.
He will have to show that he can handle the speed of NFL pass-rushers, but that is true of any tackle prospect. He was selected ahead of Penn State's Drew Shelton and Oregon's Isaiah World, players who most analysts had rated higher, but he obviously has more traits that the team's front office liked.
The Broncos still need an inside linebacker and tight end at some point in this draft, but adding a solid tackle prospect is always tough to argue.
Barring a trade, the Broncos won't have another pick until No. 170 in the fifth round.
