After receiving a double-bye into the quarterfinals, Alabama softball began play at the 2026 SEC Tournament on Thursday afternoon against a challenging opponent, the Arkansas Razorbacks.
A battle of the SEC's No. 2 and No. 7 seeded teams, the showdown between the Crimson Tide and Razorbacks was one of the most anticipated entering Thursday's slate. The game certainly delivered early on as well with a pitching duel, with Alabama's bats eventually heating up late to secure an impressive 7-1 victory.

Looking back now, this game certainly began to shift in Alabama's favor starting in the fifth inning when the Crimson Tide had Brooke Wells and Alexis Pupillo hit back-to-back home runs. Alabama also went on to add three more runs in the sixth inning, and had five hits over their final two innings alone, eventually ending the game with eight.
Speaking of the long ball, the Crimson Tide lineup showcased their power potential Thursday afternoon, hitting four home runs in all. The other home runs came from Audrey Vandagriff in the fourth inning to tie the game, 1-1, while Ambrey Taylor added another in the sixth.
Alabama ace Jocelyn Briski drew the start Thursday for the Crimson Tide in the circle, and the right-hander certainly delivered in the big moment. Going the distance, Briski allowed no earned runs over seven innings, along with three hits, two walks, and seven strikeouts.
As a result of the win, Alabama advances to the SEC Tournament semifinals where they will face off against Florida on Friday night. A team Alabama did not face during the regular season, Florida is the SEC's No. 3 seed this week, and defeated No. 14 Auburn earlier Thursday afternoon, 10-9.
Alabama won the game against Arkansas with a final score of 7-1.
