Former Belmont big Drew Scharnowski has committed to Duke. A 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward, Scharnowski averaged 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season on 68.1% field goal shooting. Scharnowski was named first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference and to the MVC All-Defensive Team.
On3's Joe Tipton reported the news that Scharnowski had chosen the Blue Devils.
Iowa has landed a pair of players out of the transfer portal, earning commitments on Friday from former Illinois State guard Ty'Reek Coleman and former Saint Mary's center Andrew McKeever.
As a freshman last season for the Redbirds, Coleman averaged 10.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game on 50.4% field goal shooting, 41.6% from 3-point range, and 70.2% from the free-throw line.
Meanwhile, McKeever averaged 8.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game on 50% field goal shooting.
