While the Iowa football program is still assembling its 2027 recruiting class, it's never too early to start thinking about the 2028 class.
That's exactly what the Hawkeyes have been doing the past few days. Kirk Ferentz and the coaching staff have begun extending offers to prospects in the 2028 class, with an eye on the future of the program. They continued that trend late last week when they offered a fast-rising three-star quarterback in the class.
Oscar Sloan took to social media to share that Iowa offered.
Sloan is ranked as the No. 35 quarterback and as the No. 6 player from Indiana in the 2028 class, per 247Sports.
Sloan is from Greenwood, Ind., and Center Grove High School just outside Indianapolis. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound signal caller currently has offers from fellow Big Ten schools Wisconsin, Minnesota, Maryland, and Purdue. Other schools, such as Indiana, Michigan, and Alabama have expressed interest but have yet to offer.
Last season as a sophomore at Center Grove, Sloan led the Trojans to a 10-2 record. He completed 61% of his passes for 1,689 yards and a 13-to-7 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Center Grove was a run-first offense last season, rushing for nearly 3,000 yards as a team in 2025. Despite that, Sloan found a way to make some plays and put up numbers.
After some recent wins with quarterbacks in the 2027 class, Ferentz is looking to keep the momentum going and bring Sloan to Iowa City.
Here's a look at Sloan's highlights:
