Iowa State star Milan Momcilovic is looking to either head to the NBA or continue his college career somewhere else in 2026-27.
According to Draft Express, Momcilovic is declaring for the 2026 NBA Draft while also putting his name in the transfer portal. If Momcilovic goes pro, he’s a possible first-round pick. If he stays in college, he’s going to be one of the most coveted transfers of the offseason and will likely get one of the biggest NIL deals of any player ahead of the upcoming season.
Momcilovic was the leading scorer on an Iowa State team that earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament. He averaged just under 17 points per game as he shot over 50% from the field despite taking more than 70% of his shots from behind the 3-point line. The junior shot barely less than 49% from behind the arc on 7.5 attempts per game. Momcilovic shot just 3.6 two-point shots per game; his effective field goal percentage of 67% ranked seventh in the country.
A native of Wisconsin, Momcilovic has averaged 13.2 points across his three seasons in Ames. The Cyclones were knocked out of the tournament in the Sweet 16 by No. 6 Tennessee after forward Joshua Jefferson suffered an ankle injury in the first round. Jefferson didn’t play in either of Iowa State’s last two games of the season.
When he signed with Iowa State, Momcilovic was a consensus four-star recruit and the No. 44 prospect in On3’s rankings.
Milan Momcilovic's declaration for the NBA Draft suggests he may be a potential first-round pick, impacting his future career and financial opportunities.
Milan Momcilovic entered the transfer portal to explore options for continuing his college career if he decides not to go pro.
If Milan Momcilovic transfers, he is expected to receive one of the largest NIL deals among college players, reflecting his high demand and talent.
