Abhishek Sharma reclaimed the IPL 2026 Orange Cap with 425 runs after scoring 45 runs against Mumbai Indians. Heinrich Klaasen follows closely in second with 414 runs, while Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is in third with 400 runs.
Abhishek Sharma produced a blistering knock to reclaim the Orange Cap, just a day after losing it to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had earlier become the first player to reach 400 runs this season, scoring a brilliant 43 off 16 balls to help Rajasthan Royals defeat Punjab Kings. That knock briefly put him at the top of the run charts. However, Abhishek Sharma took it back within a day, smashing a quick 45 in the 244-run chase against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
Abhishek now leads the Orange Cap race with 425 runs in 9 matches. His teammate Heinrich Klaasen has risen to second place with 414 runs, after his explosive 65, which earned him the Player of the Match award as Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Mumbai Indians by six wickets, registering their fifth consecutive win.
Sooryavanshi now sits at third with 400 runs in 9 matches, while KL Rahul is at fourth with 358 runs in 8 matches at a strike rate of 185.49. Virat Kohli has also improved his position in the standings after his team’s match against Delhi Capitals. The RCB batter now occupies fifth place with 351 runs in 8 innings at an impressive strike rate of 162.50.
