WXV Global Series will be like 'mini-World Cup'
The WXV Global Series is like a mini-World Cup every year for women's rugby!
The Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen numerous centuries scored, but achieving one is challenging due to the format's fast pace. Batsmen must maintain a high strike rate to reach 100 runs in a 20-over match.
Despite its high-scoring nature, it is not an easy task to get a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It's just a 20-over innings, and a batsman just needs to keep striking at more than 150 for a better part of the innings to have a chance to reach the three-figure mark.
And more often than not, middle-order batsmen will have no time to reach a ton.

In the IPL, this feat has been achieved 118 times across 19 seasons.
The first-ever century in IPL was scored by then-Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Brendon McCullum, who achieved the feat in the very first match in the league's history against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). A knock of 158*(73) helped his side put up a score of 222 runs, which his side defended successfully.
Since then, many batsmen have scored centuries across the 17 seasons of the tournament.
On April 25, KL Rahul became the first Indian batter to score 150 runs in an IPL innings.
Former Indian captain Virat Kohli holds the record for the most centuries in the IPL. The RCB star has eight centuries in 265 innings. He is followed by Jos Buttler who has seven hundreds and "Universe Boss" Chris Gayle, who has hit six centuries.
Out of the six centuries that Gayle hit, the most special one was his knock of 175*(66) against Pune Warriors India for RCB in 2013. No bowler was left behind as the West Indies batsman hit every ball out of the park, hitting 13 fours and 17 sixes. It is also the highest-ever score by a batsman in an IPL match.

The total number of centuries scored in IPL history is not specified in the excerpt.
The excerpt does not provide specific names of the top century scorers in IPL.
Batsmen typically need to maintain a strike rate of over 150 to have a chance at scoring a century in the IPL.
Scoring a century in the IPL is difficult due to the short 20-over format, which limits the time available for batsmen to accumulate runs.
