Is Max Muncy Headed for an All-Star Selection?

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy is one of the few Dodgers off to a strong start to 2026, and Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain thinks he will make the All-Star team this season.

Muncy, 35, earned an extension following the 2025 season despite spending a solid chunk of the year on the injured list, and it seems like the Dodgers made the right decision. He has 11 homers this season, leading the team, and has tallied 17 RBIs while batting .280.

He hasn’t fallen victim to the Dodgers’ recent slump either, and has an OPS of .852 since the beginning of May.

“This is a player that’s on a great contract. He’s made the All-Star team twice in his career, once in 2019 and once in 2021,” McKain said of Muncy. “He is going to make his third All-Star team in his 12th season in the bigs.

“He’s really the only guy that’s consistently showed up, he’s been fantastic. …It’s something to be celebrated but we do have a long way to go.”

As McKain said, Muncy’s last All-Star appearance came in 2021. That’s not to say he hasn’t been fantastic for the Dodgers since then, though.
