Former Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuaín, 38, became a talking point this weekend after a photo went viral on social media.

The former Real Madrid striker, who also played for other European giants such as AC Milan and Chelsea, appeared to look quite different!

The photo was taken by a fan in Miami, where the player decided to hang up his boots in 2022 while playing for Inter Miami, the current club of his fellow countryman Lionel Messi.

So far, however, there is no confirmation that it is really the former striker.

Still, people on social media continue to speculate!

Higuaín’s career

A product of River Plate’s youth academy, Higuaín built a solid career in Europe.

His biggest spell came at Real Madrid, the club he represented between 2007 and 2013, totaling 121 goals and 30 assists in 265 matches. The center-forward also had spells at giants such as Napoli, Juventus, Milan, and Chelsea.

For the Argentina national team, Higuaín played 75 matches and scored 31 goals.

However, the striker remains forever remembered by fans for the clear-cut chance he missed against goalkeeper Neuer in the 2014 World Cup final at the Maracanã, a match in which Germany were crowned champions in extra time.
