In a no-nonsense, minimalistic message to his Manchester City teammates, Haaland has said that the Blues should only try to win and not overthink about goal difference in their final five Premier League games of the season.

“We had a lot of chances,” the Norway international said in a post-match interview with Sky Sports on Wednesday night. “But I’m happy we won, and that’s the most important thing.

“Anything else, don’t think, just try to win. It’s all about winning, no matter how. We tried to play our football and just tried to win. That’s what you have in your mindset. And now, focus on Saturday.

“Don’t think about (scoring) the goals, think about winning, as I’ve said now three times. It’s been good so far (this month), so keep going, keep going, try to win now on Saturday, and then Everton.

“One-nil is amazing, I’m super happy, I don’t know why you keep on asking me that (about not scoring more than one goal). I’m super happy, we won, we got three points, and as they sing, we are top of the league! So be happy.”
