Jacksonville Jaguars select Texas A&M DT in third round of NFL draft

Another Texas A&M athlete is headed to Jacksonville, Fla., as the Jaguars selected Aggie defensive tackle Albert Regis with the No. 81 pick in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday night.

Regis began his collegiate career with the Aggies as a redshirt freshman in 2021, where he saw the field in limited action. He played in 11 games in 2022 and 12 games the following year, racking up 31 total tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss and one sack over that span. In 2024, Regis surpassed his totals from the previous two seasons in a single campaign with 36 total tackles and 3.0 tackles for loss.

The 6-foot-1 defensive tackle from La Porte, Texas, concluded his collegiate career in the Maroon and White with an impressive senior season, notching 46 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. Now, he will trade in that Aggie uniform for teal in 2026.

Regis was given a 6.15 prospect grade from his outstanding performance at the 2026 NFL Combine. He secured a 65 production score (13th among all defensive tackles), 67 athleticism score (14th among all defensive tackles) and 63 (17th among all defensive tackles). He also flashed his speed by posting a 4.88 in the 40-yard dash.

The former Aggie interior defensive lineman brings an electrifying speed and physicality up front that can't be taught, but can be improved upon. He will join tight end Nate Boerkircher, who was selected in the second round of the NFL draft, as the two Aggies who are now Jaguars.
