He was a teammate with Colorado State transfer Brandon Rechsteiner, who committed to K-State on April 10, during the 2024-25 season. During that year, Schutt shot 35.6% from beyond the arc and started in 26 of 32 games.
The Yorkville, Illinois, native was the No. 50 overall recruit in the Class of 2022 and was a four-star guard committed to Duke. With the Blue Devils, he played in 14 games as a freshman. After playing 12 minutes in an exhibition game the following season, he required surgery on his left knee, ending his season.
Schutt will have one season of eligibility.
He's the seventh player to commit to Alexander's 2026-27 roster, joining Rechsteiner and other transfers, including Dezdrick Lindsay (Oregon) andBrock Vice (Murray State). Alexander will also bring over Devin Hutcherson and Jaylen Alexander, two incoming freshmen whom he recruited to Belmont. Andrej Kostic also announced he would stay with the Wildcats.
