Arik Armstead expressed confidence in Travis Hunter's ability to excel on both offense and defense for the Jaguars this season. Despite offseason speculation, the team plans for Hunter to continue playing both roles.
How ever the Jacksonville Jaguars end up utilizing Travis Hunter this season, defensive tackle Arik Armstead is confident in Hunter's ability to make an impact on both sides of the ball.
"I feel great about it," Armstead said on Good Morning Football when asked about Hunter playing both ways. "I said this about Travis when I first met him, when we drafted him, and I was honored to be able to welcome him to the NFL on the NFL draft stage, but Travis is truly a unicorn. He can do whatever he puts his mind to. I'm excited."
Outside of the building, much has been made this offseason about where Hunter is going to line up, but James Gladstone and Liam Coen have remained steadfast in saying that he will continue to play both offense and defense.
Now, how those snap counts shake out could be different than last season. Prior to Hunter's injury, the bulk of his playing time was at wide receiver.
But this year, Gladstone has mentioned there being an "uptick" in cornerback usage. Presumably, Hunter will start opposite of Montaric Brown. But again, he will see his share of opportunities on offense as well.
Hunter continues to work his way back from last season's knee injury during offseason programs, but Gladstone expects that he'll be able to play at "full tick" coming training camp.
Hunter's return to the lineup will provide a big boost for the Jaguars -- on both offense and defense.
Arik Armstead praised Travis Hunter's versatility, stating he is confident in Hunter's ability to impact both offense and defense.

"He's just gotta get healthy and get back out there on the field," added Armstead, "but I think he showed what he's capable of when he did play early in the season, and we're all excited to have him back and get him back there on the field. He's a playmaker. He's a difference-maker. He brings that energy and that spark that we need to our team, and so we're excited to have Travis back playing wherever the coaches see fit. He can do it all."
