Jaguars First Round Draft Reacts Survey: Are You OK With No Trade Up?

Jaguars fans — are you ok with the team not trading back in to make a pick in the first round of the NFL Draft?

“We’ll be strategically bold,” general manager James Gladstone said after Round 1 wrapped up.

“As it relates to how we’ve operated over the course of this offseason, there’s been a ton of intent and a ton of discipline tied to it, and I think the idea of a volume play is an important thing for us to acknowledge … in Los Angeles, there were quite a few drafts we were picking with as many as 11, 12, 13, 14 picks, and that gives you a lot more chances to hit, and a lot more chances to miss, but we’ll take the chances at this stage.”

There you have it, folks. Straight from the horse’s mouth. The Jaguars “had some calls earlier in the day, just to engage in what paths could exist,” Gladstone said, but they clearly entered the draft ready to appear at the plate a dozen or so times rather than taking a massive swing.

Following the first round, the Jaguars have +2500 odds to win Super Bowl LXI, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
