Rookie minicamp is underway for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and there will be 36 players participating, including two tryout candidates.
Of course, taking part will be the Jaguars' 10 draft picks, along with 17 of their undrafted free agent signings.
But in addition to those 27 players, several who were already on the roster that do not have an accrued season in the NFL under their belt can take part as well.
For the Jaguars this year, that includes WR Chandler Brayboy, TE Patrick Herbert, RB Ja'Quinden Jackson, CB Keni-H Lovely, DB Jabbar Muhammad, DL Kevie Rose, and S Trevian Thomas.
Trying out for the team this weekend are punter Tyler Perkins (Iowa State) and quarterback Derek Robertson (Monmouth).
Perkins averaged 42.4 yards per punt last season, with 20 of his 42 attempts keeping opponents inside the 20-yard line, according to PFF.
Robertson, meanwhile, has completed 69% of his passes the last two seasons, averaging a hefty 9.4 yards per pass attempt with 55 touchdowns to only 11 interceptions.
