Jakub Dobes rammed by Beck Malenstyn in Game 3.

By the end of the first period of Game 3 between the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens the game had begun to take on a very different tone with chaos erupting after the final buzzer, and that bad blood has now very clearly spilled over into the second period as well.

Roughly midway through the game's second period veteran Sabres forward Beck Malenstyn would slam into Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes, with Malenstyn seemingly making little to no effort to stop his forward momentum. The end result was Dobes being knocked to the ice and the net being knocked off its moorings, which once again resulted in a brawl between the Canadiens and Sabres.

Thankfully for the Canadiens Dobes appeared to be alright, at least relatively speaking, and was quickly able to get back to his feet and away from the players brawling on the ice. Dobes skated over to the Canadiens bench and briefly spoke to members of the training staff but eventually returned to his net and has remained in the game.

Unfortunately for Malenstyn if he was trying to get Dobes off his game his gamble did not appear to pay off, at least not in the short term. The Canadiens would get a power play as a result of his run on Dobes and it would be Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky who would make the Sabres pay with a power play goal.
