Sinner is now past Nadalās best run of wins at Masters 1000 level and is moving closer to the records held by Djokovic (31) and Federer (29).
Speaking after his latest win, Sinner said he didnāt feel comfortable being compared to that trio just yet.
āNo, not really,ā said Sinner. āI always said, and I continue to say, I donāt, I cannot compare myself with these names. They did so much stuff in their career, Iām just in the beginning. Yeah, they are different level, you know.
āFor me, Iām happy to be here. Iām happy to play as many matches as possible. But what they did, itās something else. I just try to give everything I have a hundred percent in every match. If I win, good. If not, I tried my best and I donāt have regrets. So thatās it.ā
Sinnerās path to the title also looks a bit clearer without Carlos Alcaraz in the draw, especially with the Spaniard pulling out of Roland Garros as well because of his wrist injury.
Asked during the Spanish portion of his press conference whether he had spoken with Alcaraz, Sinner kept his response brief.
