The NFL draft is this week, a very exciting time for many teams around the league. The New York Jets are one of those squads that have a lot to be excited about, holding the second overall pick.

While the Jets' second pick isn't expected to completely change the franchise, as they're still searching for a quarterback, there's reason to believe this pick can put them in a very good position to start winning at a high level in the near future. Hitting this pick out of the park is very important for the Jets, and it sounds like they have a decision made on who they're going with at No. two.

“Flying to LA early tomorrow am. I’m going to bed believing Reese is the Jets pick at 2, Love won’t last to pick 7 (maybe not to TEN at 4) and if the Cardinals want Ty Simpson (and they do) —they better move WAY up (which explains why they’re trying so hard to move out of 3),” Todd McShay wrote.

As McShay touched on, it sounds like New York will be selecting Arvell Reese out of Ohio State, an athletic edge rusher who proved during his time with the Buckeyes that he can get to the quarterback at will.

There have been a few things the Jets need to improve on over the past few years, and while getting to the quarterback wasn't always one of them, last season showed that New York needs to add another young edge rusher to this group who can make a major impact. Reese is exactly that and would fit in well with some of the other young players on the defense.
