The New York Jets made three picks in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft and walked away with some of the best players in the class at their respective positions.
Omar Cooper Jr. at the end of the round was a nice wide receiver pick, while David Bailey will give the defense some instant-impact pressure off the edge. But the Kenyon Sadiq pick was truly one of the more fascinating selections made by the Jets.
And as ESPN's Jeremy Fowler shared, Jets offensive coordinator Frank Reich apparently predicted the pick during a videoconference with Sadiq before the NFL Draft.
When the Jets released the video of them calling Sadiq to make the pick, Reich could be seen saying, "Oh my god. Let's go. What did I tell you? I told you."
Such a reaction from Reich naturally drew questions about what he was referring to. Fowler found out what the backstory there was, as the Jets' OC predicted this pick before the draft.
"Reich had a predraft videoconference with the Oregon tight end who he found very impactful," Fowler writes. "... One Jets source surmised that Reich might have called his shot with Sadiq on the videoconference, indicating he wanted the team to pick him."
Frank Reich predicted that the Jets would select Kenyon Sadiq during their videoconference before the NFL Draft.
In addition to Kenyon Sadiq, the Jets selected Omar Cooper Jr. and David Bailey in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Kenyon Sadiq's selection is considered fascinating due to the prediction made by Frank Reich and the potential impact he could have on the Jets' offense.

Sadiq is a fun tight end prospect with some of the best athleticism of any tight end coming out of the NFL Combine. He ran a sub-4.40-second 40-yard dash.
He's drawn comparisons to Vernon Davis and was the clear top tight end in this year's draft class. He joins Mason Taylor in the tight end room under new offensive coordinator Frank Reich.
After spending a premium second-round pick on a TE last year, this pick from the Jets shows just how much belief they have in Sadiq.
Reich clearly is a huge fan of Sadiq's game and was ecstatic that the team actually was able to pick him in the first round of the NFL Draft.
And based on this report from Fowler, he had called his shot earlier in the offseason with Sadiq, predicting he would be coming to New York.
