Joe Rogan has been looking back at the moment Jiri Prochazka lost the title fight at UFC 327.
UFC 327 landed in Miami, Florida, this past April, with a vacant light heavyweight title bout between Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg as the main event.
Ulberg delivered one of the wildest knockouts we’ve seen in a while, landing a left hook while standing on one leg after tearing his ACL earlier in the fight.
After losing, Prochazka said he thought showing ‘mercy’ to Ulberg was what cost him the fight. It was a surprising comment from someone who usually takes full responsibility for how things play out inside the Octagon.

After the fight, Prochazka tried to clarify that he was operating at just “40-50%” because he was waiting for the referee to step in, but some fans felt it sounded more like an excuse.
UFC commentator Joe Rogan looked back on the result and felt Prochazka let his emotions get the better of him, suggesting he lost focus when it mattered most.
“You’ve got to look at it two ways,” Rogan said on a recent episode of his podcast. “One, you’ve got to look at it from Jiri’s perspective. He had it there. The fight was over. (Ulberg) was hurt.”
“But you look at it from Carlos’ perspective. Carlos Ulberg was hurt, he can’t move his leg they’re probably gonna stop it in between rounds… Then boom, he clips him with a left hook.
“He clearly did get upset,” Rogan continued. “I really do think that he got upset… It doesn’t matter, Carlos got him, he f—– up. It’s part of fighting. You have to be ruthless.”
Now dealing with a serious knee injury himself, Ulberg will be out for an extended period while recovering in Las Vegas.
