It is a fantastic performance from not only Embiid and Maxey, but also from the rest of the team. They would not have reached the second round if not for players like VJ Edgecome, Paul George, Andre Drummond, and more.
Embiid himself is appreciative of what happened with the 76ers. He was not present until Game 4 of the series after he had an emergency appendectomy. He wanted to be there for his teammates because he knew they were there for him.
"That's a tough task. I've always believed in these guys, especially this team. Obviously, all year long, we weren't at our best. I feel like we're not even close," Embiid said about his teammates stepping up.
"I'm getting back to myself, this guy (Tyrese Maxey), All-NBA, PG. Everybody in this locker room is locked in and focused on the same goal."
The 76ers are finally back in the second round, and it will be against the New York Knicks. It will be yet another tough task, but it will be a good one for everyone watching at home.
With Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns having a face-off between two elite centers, that is only scratching the surface of what can happen between these two teams.
