Former Cincinnati Reds great Joey Votto apparently has been working with some of the team's prospects playing for the Single-A Daytona Tortugas, including 2024 MLB Draft second-round pick Tyson Lewis.
Tortugas broadcaster Matthew Mounsey tweeted that Votto has been working with the 20-year-old infield prospect and his Daytona teammates.
Lewis, who ranks No. 3 among MLB Pipeline's top Reds prospects, is batting .263 with two home runs and five stolen bases in 130 plate appearances this season for the Tortugas.
Lewis hit a walk-off, three-run homer in the Tortugas' win May 5 against Clearwater.
In March, Votto gave the Reds the gift of a clock that stands on Crosley Terrace, just outside the main entrance of Great American Ball Park.
Votto appeared on "The Jim Day Podcast" in February to discuss his job as MLB analyst for NBC and Peacock for the 2026 season.
"To the credit of NBC, they were persistent," Votto said on the podcast. "And they let me know that they had quite a bit of interest. ... I still think that there's moments that I'm trying to figure out the next steps. But I love the sport."
