Fans have booed the product on the field and chanted âsell the team!â at several games. A plane flew over Fenway Park last week urging John Henry to sell the team.
Henry isnât blind to whatâs going on and understands where fans are coming from.
âFans get frustrated,â Henry told Sports Business Journal via email. âThe Sox looked terrible for (their) first 25 games. I remember a plane flying overhead when we (Liverpool) were beating Manchester United 7-0 that read âFSG OUT!ââ
While it might seem to fans like Henry is content with a team whose starting pitchers struggle to get through the fifth inning most nights and an offense thatâs batting .252 on the season, he knows winning is whatâs important.
âIt doesnât mean you ignore them, it means you work harder â you donât settle for mediocrity," Henry said. âYou have to win.â
