John Stones is set to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, bringing an end to a decade-long spell at the Etihad Stadium.
The 31-year-old defender joined City from Everton in 2016 for a fee of £47.5 million and has since been a key part of one of the most successful periods in the club’s history. Over the course of his time in Manchester, Stones has made 293 appearances and helped the side collect 19 major trophies.
That haul includes six Premier League titles, with a seventh still a possibility this season, as well as a Champions League triumph in 2023 when he started the final victory over Inter Milan. He has also won two FA Cups, five League Cups, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and three Community Shields.
In total, Stones has scored 19 goals and registered nine assists for City, often contributing in important moments from defence. However, injuries have limited his involvement in recent seasons, and this campaign he has featured only 20 times across all competitions.
His departure follows the news that fellow long-serving midfielder Bernardo Silva will also leave at the end of the season after nine years at the club.
