Sergio Garcia made headlines for all the wrong reasons during his final round at The Masters.
The 46-year-old Spaniard received a code-of-conduct warning for smashing his driver in the ground on the second tee, then smashing a water cooler for good measure. In a bizarre turn of events, he was then seen carrying Jon Rahmâs golf bag down the fairway as his caddie raked a bunker.
This was the latest in a long series of conduct incidents for Garcia, who has earned a reputation for being a volatile player over a number of years.
And after the round, his playing partner Rahm said what playing with the 2017 Masters winner was like.

Speaking after his final round at this yearâs Masters, Rahm was asked if this was the first time he has ever played with his fellow Spaniard at this competition.
Rahm answered,âI donât know. It may be. Iâm not sure. I donât remember who I play with or who I donât all the time especially if weâre playing badly.
âBut, it was good. Obviously he hasnât been swinging it the way he would like. Wasnât the easiest day for him so I kind of â not much I can say. To talk to him when I could and lift his spirits up a little bit.
âBut felt like I was exactly where he was at today the last few days so I canât really say much.â
Rahm entered The Masters as one of the favorites because of his form on LIV Golf, but a six-over first round left him immediately out of contention.
His final round was by far his best of the week, as he shot a 68 to bring him to one over for the tournament. Afterwards, he reflected on his performance overall.
Rahm said, âI got away a lot of what not to do. Today was much better. Crazy, same person, right? Even though I made some mistakes, I was able to rectify quite a few of them and have a good round. Too bad the bogey on 18. Maybe the wrong club off the tee. Bit of a change in the gust. I donât know.
âBut, yeah, Iâll say it again, lot of what not to do. Played really bad the two days. Shot 2-under on the second round but that was about as good as I should have shot with how I was hitting it.
âDefinitely some things Iâm going change going forward. Preparation-wise and what to do. But itâs hard to say how much I learned because I donât think we have ever seen a Masters this firm and I donât know how long it is going to be until we do again. Both off the tee and on the greens.
âHave you ever seen looking down the property how yellow the patron areas and how brown and purple parts of the greens and fairways are? It will be a long time until we see it like this. Definitely have some things in mind for future editions where it gets to this level.â
Rahm wouldnât elaborate on that cryptic comment, so perhaps weâll find out what he means when heâs in a better mood!
