Indeed, the possibility of Mourinho returning for a second spell at Real Madrid has gathered steam in recent days, with SL Benfica now reportedly kickstarting their search for a replacement.
However, journalist Miguel Serrano has stated that Mourinho’s potential return to the Bernabeu would depend on one key factor: the future of Jurgen Klopp.

There have been conflicting reports about whether or not Klopp wants to leave Red Bull. Even if he does, Real Madrid would have to make many sacrifices by giving the German more decision-making abilities.
If Real Madrid reach an agreement with Klopp, they will no longer pursue Mourinho and the Portuguese tactician can then continue his spell at Benfica.
To that end, the former Chelsea manager has set a strict deadline to decide his future, as he is not overly keen on breaking his contract at Benfica either.
