Justin Thomas gives verdict on Augusta and his game after playing at The Masters

Justin Thomas had a positive week at The Masters as he made the cut before finishing in a tie for 41st at Augusta.

It is some way off his PGA Championship wins of 2017 and 2022, but Thomas is only really finding his feet again after injury.

The two-time major champion underwent surgery at the end of 2025, having been struggling with hip pain for some time.

But he has returned to the course following that successful surgery, with his run at The Masters marking his fourth event of the season.

Thomas has now analysed his week at Augusta National on social media, as well as looking ahead to his next appearance.

Justin Thomas enjoys Masters week despite not being in contention

Thomas posted on X after his final round: “Masters week never disappoints.

“The course played incredibly!

“A lot of good in my game but not quite sharp enough to get into contention.

“Few days to reset and fine tune before trying to win another plaid jacket [at the RBC Heritage]!

Augusta proved very difficult for many high-profile names, but Thomas was able to make the weekend in Georgia.

He posted scores of 72, 74, 71 and 73 to finish on two-over for the week, where he was joined by four others.

The 32-year-old carded 12 birdies, 47 pars, 12 bogeys and one double bogey at Augusta, where Rory McIlroy defended his crown.

How has Justin Thomas performed this season?

Thomas is now looking forward to a busy PGA Tour season, having eased himself back from injury at TGL.

His return to action on the course arrived at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where back-to-back rounds of 79 resulted in a missed cut.

But he bounced back in superb fashion to finish T8 at The Players Championship, having finished T30 at the Valspar Championship before taking on The Masters.

His focus now turns to the RBC Heritage, which returns to Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina this week.

And there many eyes will be on the American, who claimed his 16th PGA Tour win and first since 2022 at last year’s event.

He carded rounds of 61, 69, 69 and 68 to finish on 17-under, where he was joined by compatriot Andrew Novak, who he beat in a playoff.

That victory should give him plenty of confidence for the tournament, along with the cut he just made at Augusta.
