Juve-linked Marcos Senesi likely to stay in the Premier League
Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi is likely to extend his stay in the Premier League, according to TuttoJuve’s Mirko Di Natale.
The 28-year-old is in the final year of his £2.6m-per-year contract at the Vitality and is expected to leave for free at the end of the season.
Subject to interest from several clubs both in and outside of England, the Argentina international had received a four-year, €3m-per-year contract offer from Juventus, but he is holding out for a deal in the region of €5 million per year.
An ideal blend of age, profile, and contract situation makes Senesi an attractive prospect for many a side. Apart from Juve, Barcelona are another club from the continent who are monitoring his situation. In the Premier League, the likes of Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Manchester United are pushing for his signature, while Tottenham Hotspur have recently emerged as a possible destination, though their ability to sign the Argentine will hinge on their survival in the English top flight.
Senesi, who is of Italian descent, has been a key component of the Cherries’ defence since joining them from Feyenoord in the summer of 2022. This season, in what is now confirmed to be the final campaign at Bournemouth for both him and head coach Andoni Iraola, Senesi has remained integral to the team’s push for European football next season, with them being two points off Brentford in seventh with six games left to play.
