K-State baseball (27-25, 10-18 Big 12) dropped Game 1 to UCF (30-19, 18-10 Big 12), 10-6 in Orlando, Florida.
The Wildcats held a 4-3 lead through six innings. Cadyn Karl regained the lead for the âCats with an RBI single to score AJ Evasco.
A five-run seventh inning would give UCF an 8-4 lead, and the Knights would add two more in the eighth off a two-run home run from Andrew Williamson.
Trailing by six runs, Bear Madliak would hit a two-run homer to get some runs back on the board, but the Knights would get out of a late rally from the Wildcats to secure the win.
Game 2 of the series is set for 5 p.m.
