The state of Georgia has and will always be a major recruiting area for the Florida State Seminoles. Marquis Fennell, a three-star prospect, has been a target for FSU since they offered him on Jan. 20.
On Jan. 31, Fennell attended a Junior Day in Tallahassee, and he took two unofficial visits in March. Seminoles' running backs coach Kam Martin took things a step further on Thursday as he visited Fennell at his home in Valdosta, Georgia.
"Really appreciate @TeamKamMartin for coming by on a home visit last weekš¢š¢," Fennell wrote on social media.
Fennell is the nation's No. 596 overall player and the No. 44 athlete per the 247Sports composite rankings. He's comes in as the No. 70 prospect in Georgia also.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder is coming off an super productive junior campaign at Valdosta High School. He put up 1,480 rushing yards (8.2 yards per carry) and 23 touchdowns, which included nine games over 100 yards. Fennell was also very effective as a wide receiver with 53 receptions for 764 yard and 10 touchdowns.
Florida State has six commitments in the 2027 cycle, but only three-star tight end Connor Winn is on the offensive side of the ball. So, it's no surprise that a versatile weapon like Fennell would be on their radar.
On June 12, Fennell has as official visit locked in with FSU.
