This news, as confirmed by USA TODAY Sports, comes as the offseason continues to unfold for the Jayhawks. Allen arrived as a local prospect and 247Sports three-star recruit in the class of 2025, but will now look to continue his college career with another program. He’s the latest from KU’s back court to depart, with redshirt sophomore Elmarko Jackson recently committing to Georgetown and redshirt sophomore Jamari McDowell committing to Wake Forest. Seniors Tre White and Melvin Council Jr. are both appearing to pursue professional careers, with freshman Darryn Peterson expected to do the same.
Whether KU coach Bill Self fills Allen’s spot through the transfer portal or through the high school ranks, there’s still a lot of work to be done. The only addition Kansas has made through the portal so far is Utah junior forward Keanu Dawes. Dawes announced his commitment on Thursday.
